Onboarding & sign-in — Regression Test
Prerequisites
- A fresh install, or a signed-out app, so the full first-run flow shows
- A Google work account, and a personal Google account available to test the warning path
Steps
- Launch the app while signed out.
- Sign-in screen shows, eyebrow reads "Welcome · Step 1 of 3"
- "Continue with Google" button is visible
- Terms and Privacy Policy links are present in the footer
- Click Continue with Google and complete OAuth in the browser with your work account.
- App shows the "Check your browser" in-progress state while OAuth is open
- After approving, the app advances to Step 2 (Calendar)
- On Step 2, click Connect Google Calendar and approve calendar access in the browser.
- Eyebrow reads "Step 2 of 3"
- App shows the "Waiting for Google Calendar" state, then auto-advances to Step 3 once granted
- On Step 3 (Permissions), grant Microphone and System Audio.
- Eyebrow reads "Step 3 of 3" with three permission rows: Microphone, System Audio, Dictation
- Each granted permission shows a black checkmark
- The progress caption updates as permissions are granted ("One down…", "Almost there.", "All set.")
- Grant the Dictation (Accessibility) permission via Open Settings → enable FocusFlow in System Settings → return to the app.
- Accessibility row reflects the granted state on return
- Continue becomes enabled once Microphone + System Audio are granted
- Click Continue to reach the intent survey, and answer all three questions.
- Q1 "What would make tomorrow feel lighter?" shows with selectable options
- Selecting an option auto-advances to Q2, then Q3
- Back appears after Q1 and returns to the previous question with the answer preserved
- After Q3, the app transitions into the main view (Notes)
- Confirm the AI greeting.
- The Notes header shows a personalized greeting (e.g. "Hello <name>")
Variations
- Restart the app after completing onboarding.
- The onboarding flow and intent survey are not shown again
- Sign out and sign back in with a personal Google account (no work calendar).
- The "Personal calendar" warning appears with Add work account and Continue anyway
- Add work account lets you re-run sign-in with a different account
